The ICBFM team, with colleagues from NSU and MIPT, studied bacterial enzyme–DNA complexes. Data were collected at a synchrotron in Shanghai.

Cytosine and thymine opposite the lesion rotate by 180 degrees, helping the enzyme accommodate different bases. The DNA Repair paper explains a molecular mechanism; it does not introduce a new treatment.
