Yaroslavl Museum Reserve
Choose one exhibition and allow time for the ensemble’s architecture. Ticket coverage and opening arrangements differ between individual venues; check before buying. This makes a useful first stop for exploring the city’s history.
- 30–45 minutes
Strelka and the meeting of two rivers
Continue towards the meeting of the Volga and Kotorosl. Pause for the panorama and compare the views towards the water and the city. Wind and weather may change your plans; this stop can easily be shortened.
- 1–1.5 hours
Along the embankment to the Governor’s House
Finish at the art museum’s Governor’s House, 23 Volzhskaya Embankment. Choose current exhibitions from the official programme. Give a few works your attention instead of rushing through every room.

A different pace for the day
Keep the two museums and save Strelka and the longer riverfront walk for another day. Use a current city map to choose suitable transport between stops.
Before you go
- Allow time for lunch and walking between the two museums. The overall estimate includes a margin but excludes travel to Yaroslavl.
- Check closing days, accessible galleries and ticket arrangements at both museums before travelling.
- If the riverfront walk is difficult, shorten the outdoor part and ask about access to the museum spaces you select.
