In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Nadezhda hosted 16 lectures on volcanoes, the ocean, ecosystems and languages of northern peoples. Crew members and cadets introduced visitors to the sailing ship.

The Russian Geographical Society reported on 16 October that almost four thousand people attended the two-day programme. Its account does not specify the event dates: this is a report on a completed stage of the Sails of Russia project.
