An international team obtained a new silver borate, Ag₂[B₈O₁₂(OH)₂]. Its crystal contains corrugated layers; unusual hydrogen bonding helps explain how layered arrangements can acquire three-dimensional connectivity.

St Petersburg University’s research portal carries the abstract. This is fundamental structural research, not a finished electronic device. The Russian Science Foundation reported it on 14 October; the bibliographic record assigns the paper to the November 2026 issue of Journal of Solid State Chemistry.
